Onusa

An immersive Museum of the Feminine

Onusa is an immersive museum that amplifies feminine ways of being and relating to ourselves, each other and the world, using art and storytelling. In this virtual world of art and storytelling, you meet women from diverse histories, cultures and mythologies, hear their fascinating stories, and learn about feminine ways of being and relating to each other and the world. Onusa is a space of tribute and reverence to the feminine in all its forms, honoring women’s legacy and wisdom.

Empowering women is one of the most high-impact and cost-effective ways to solve climate change, to end the chronic persistence of hunger, to elevate the quality of life of a nation, and even enable its long-term economic success. (Sources: Project Drawdown, The Hunger Project, Center for Partnership Systems).

Onusa is a holistic and inclusive space for all people to explore and embody the principles of the feminine, and practice these ways of being in relationship to themselves, each other and the planet.

Onusa is an expansion of my previous work with Draw Me a Song. A few years ago, I created a print called ‘Who Run the World’ that took on a social dimension I had not anticipated, and the prints began to be used as symbols of women empowerment. Mothers and fathers buy the prints for their little girls, women offer them as gifts to each other, and people share the artworks as messages to uplift young girls and women around the world. Different companies have worked with me to expand the print and create products and games from it. Most notably, the print has been developed into a card game for children that is now available at Target (under the name Icons).

Onusa is a natural expansion of this process, and using immersive and experiential learning as tools to shift culture and behavior is a deepening of this journey that was started by the print. I believe that art is an instrumental tool for creating social change, for helping to solve many of the issues we are now facing, and for shifting behavior towards a more harmonious relationship with each other and the planet.
